If you’re male, I thoroughly recommend growing the fluffiest beard you can… it seems to defeat every face-recognition app I’ve tried. I think they just believe that the picture is out of focus.

I have booked flights for my Perth trip.
Now I just have to figure out what to do in Perth for 6 days.
@andyb nothing?
@juergen_hubert Norwegian tales are just as bad, although rapey tales were rather hidden in the archives than published. I have included a number of such tales in my Erotic Folktales from Norway, and merely commented in the introduction that I recognise them as rapey, but also indicative of common attitudes (the tales would not have survived on the oral record, had they been deemed unacceptable).
Interestingly enough, although the book has sold close to 1100 copies, not one person has complained about the rapey motifs.
Out of curiosity, have there been _any_ complaints about the tales at all?
Personally, I am dealing with this by including content warning for any tales where those are relevant.

Cancer is a very complex group of diseases, each one is a unique population of cells, and it's the sort of thing that just happens as you live
We could make cancer less common, but it's a really hard problem. People are resistant to behavioural changes like not drinking booze or wearing sunscreen all the time. A lot of screening is uncomfortable (people are working on it)
But we're making progress, look at the HPV vaccine
Sure we could be doing better if this weren't a capitalist hellscape, but that's not a conspiracy. That's just ubiquitous

Just discovered another #Firefox setting I need to toggle:
→ `intl.regional_prefs.use_os_locales` (from false to true)
so that the system-wise regional settings set to France (Français) are taken into account, meaning date pickers with DD/MM/YYYY instead of MM/DD/YYYY.
And no, that's not even about a discrepancy with the language, since that's set to English (United Kingdom) anyway…
Grappig. De toelichting die erbij staat: "We’re Newsmast and we’re all about knowledge sharing. We’ve built topical Communities, spaces that anyone can dip in and out of to get involved in the things they care about. Communities combine and curate posts from all over the Fediverse into an easy to access single source."

I hear we lost Margaret Hamilton today. What an absolute legend; Thank you for leading the way, ma'am. RIP
@mlysons I've done over 100 releases of this app, I think, so a release in general is just business as usual. But the storage switch is a bit scary. Right now it's all safe as files are merely copied and the old system is running in parallel, so the worst case is that the copying must be done again at some point. The users see nothing of this.
@chakie All under control then 😀
Good luck! 👍

@henrik
